Eduardo Montiel

Lalo Montiel is a multidisciplinary graphic designer and strategic creative leader with over a decade of experience driving high-impact visual communications across Chicago and Milwaukee. Born and raised in Chicago, he brings deep roots in community-centered design and a strong command of visual storytelling through both digital and large-scale public art.

Over the past 10 years, Lalo advanced through leadership roles in the nonprofit sector—from Media Communications Coordinator to Artistic Director and later Director of Strategic Planning—where he led creative initiatives, cross-platform campaigns, and high-level partnerships, including with Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago.

Receiving a certification from ReFrame Academy in strategic communications and narrative change, Lalo played a pivotal role in securing a $10 million grant from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation’s Racial Equity 2030 Challenge. He designed the winning prospectus, developed the campaign’s social media strategy, and produced video submissions that helped position Communities United as one of only five grantees selected from over 1,400 applicants across 72 countries.

Now based in Milwaukee and working remotely, Lalo remains closely connected to Chicago’s creative landscape. He is proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, web management, and event production, and is known for delivering design solutions that are both impactful and purposeful. Committed to equity-driven storytelling and continuous growth, he thrives in collaborative, forward-thinking environments where creativity drives meaningful change.

"To me, great design is a balance of strategy, storytelling, and heart. Whether I’m developing a brand identity or illustrating a campaign, I’m fully committed to crafting work that’s both thoughtful and impactful."
